It was hell to get through. I have a hellish time writing songs. I really do. What does that song mean to you? Then I started thinking… fuck! Al Green, when he wanted to tell a girl how he felt about her, he just said it.

That sort of spiraled into people asking me whether I was going to do a solo record. Then, after that, it was like, I might as well go and make a record with good versions of these songs, because people are interested in them. My first record was a culmination of the songs I had written from when I was 16 until I was 21 years old. People started to get into that record and that was cool.

I feel like the first record is not really my record. I feel like BMYL is the actual first record. Wow I used to think that was some vocal effect to make kids like the sound of the human voice better Well I was sort of getting at the fact that although he may sing in tune, his voice is so painfully nasally that he has no business singing. Dangit, I didn't know Rascal Flatts butchered that song until now Anything recently released by Britney Spears also contains offensively blatant use of auto tune.

However, I agree with the list completely. Once you know what auto tune sounds like, it will haunt you forever. Protest the Hero even though I love them to death.

Rody can't do a lot of those high's live. This is stupid. Everyone uses it now, no use pointing out certain cases. T-Pain and Kingston is pretty intentional, I don't think they're trying to hide anything.
