Indeed Featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed. Overall my biggest issues were management and the pay!

Management is down right terrible! The pay was ridiculous this day in time for the assignment at hand! There's a saying that we all say and it's "oh it's the VA" Nothing is organized! The overall atmosphere was not uptight. The Veterans truly appreciate the care given and will thank you a million times even though they're the real hero's!

So there is a huge since of satisfaction when caring for our Vets! Super strict and heavy on annual leave and sick leave. A nurse I worked with was sick and called out on a busy day and our manager did not approve her sick leave because stating it was a busy day and the others had to work short, only to find out the next day that the nurse had covid.

So overall it has it's pro's and con's. Cons Short break, management, pay. Was this review helpful? Report Share. Great is great, and good is good, but good is good and is definitely not great. You want to take the good for good and make it become great for great. That is all. I liked helping the Veterans get their medical appointments that they needed. CONS: Short staffed, mgmt was short staffed so it was hard to get any assistance from them.

Pros: pay, benefits room for advancement. I thought going to work for the Federal Government would be like being back in the military but I was completely wrong.

There is no structure and management does not support staff, they are just looking at their pay check. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a job. The only plus is the benefits but after so long it is not worth it. Pros Benefits. Cons unreliable coworkers, unreliable management. Was fired for poor work performance When dealing with cancer treatment. This is an ongoing thing with the EEO. The management protects itself the only way to get through to them is with litigation and lawyers.

Pros Major holidays were paid. Cons Did not stick up for me when needed for health reasons a reasonable accommodation was not met. Your experience matters. Help out others considering your employer.

As a registered nurse, you need to speak up for yourself or they will walk all over you. As a New Grad, I received two weeks of training and was taking care of 7 patients per night on a medical-surgical floor. We are a single point of entry for veterans and their families to receive assistance. Skip to Main Content. Loading Close. Do Not Show Again Close.
