The focus of the protest was on black women who have been shot and killed by police, especially Breonna Taylor of Louisville. The year-old emergency medical technician died when police conducted a no-knock raid on her home. Her boyfriend fired at them thinking they were burglars and the police fired back, killing them. They marched around town, shutting down parts of Woodland Boulevard with the help of police, as they spread their message of change. Organizers, who did not want to be named, said they plan on hosting more peaceful protests in Deland.

That officer, Derek Chauvin, and three other officers involved in Floyd's death have been fired from the department. Chauvin is in police custody , as he is charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
The other officers have yet to be charged.
