Yeah, for some reason there was a bit of a, what I would call, a visitation of energy. You know, we already had an album ready to go, it was an album we were calling Thunder in the Ozarks. It was a kind of heavier album.

Anyway, I think it really showed the direction that the band was going, kind of like where we were supposed to be at that point. It was a little slower and heavier, and a little bit tuned down. And Thunder in the Ozarks was really just like that. Donny was gone, Jason had left, Jeff was having a hard time, so I called Kurt up. You know, he was in the band from to And I think it turned out pretty good. Hellbender is a complete failure at one thing and a complete success at another!

Maybe a meeting of the minds…. And relationships do grow out of situations like that. Oh, absolutely. And yeah, I guess they have all been in some pretty interesting projects that I admire and love.

Mike from Yob is in the project, too. But the new Zeke stuff is really my main point of concentration for right now. I just want to do a really good job with it. It means everything to me to be able to keep on doing this. This Record was recorded live. We did a lot of takes of each song. There are probably 13 or 14 takes of some songs. Every take was different, each one had its own vibe. The nature of the music is really spontaneous and loosely structured.

We ended up picking the most energetic and Powerful take of each song. We were under some pretty serious time constraints.
