When possible, all the original windows were to be reconstructed and reused. In Phase I, plumbing fixtures from the original cottages were rehabilitated and reused. All of the spaces were maximized with a centralized core anchored by built-in cabinetry, which gives the small scaled home an open feeling while providing abundant storage.

This Austin renovation project is a beautiful example of a modern-day innovative design that maintains a connection to history, incorporating multiple generations into a single household for living simply, within the much-loved Travis Heights community. It turns out that the family business started out in pine, so the connection to the family struck a chord. For the kitchenette, we worked with our clients to select a stone slab for the countertop which felt organic and featured a lot of character and movement; creating the custom sink from the same stone further emphasized the craftsmanship throughout the space.

The painted library wall that houses a secret storage area was painted a deep brown color to keep the space from feeling too overwhelming with wood. The podcast is a discussion of all things related to homes, home design, decorating and architecture. While working as a stylist, producer, and agent for over 15 years, she represented a prominent interior photographer.

Her passion lies in the thrill of finding unique finds, including period antiques, rich textiles, and exciting wallpapers. Allison Beyer discovered her love of interior design through the layered materials that convey mood, feel, and quality.

She earned her degrees in apparel design and fashion merchandising and continued her studies of historical textiles at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Her enduring relationship with materials and in-depth knowledge of fabrics and product development led her to the interior design world through custom furniture design. She loves to find project inspiration in books and nature. Claudia Howard is originally from Mexico. Her drive to study architecture has taken her around the world. After completing her architecture degree in Monterrey, she lived in Vancouver to explore the unique designs of the city.
