It was the last show of some obscure band called The Beatles…or something like that. Ever heard of them? Yeah…neither have I. Hearing 40, people sing along to the na-na-na-nas in Hey Jude is indescribable. At age 68, Paul McCartney played for nearly three hours straight, with a set of nearly forty songs. All of this was done with no breaks and all the while charming the audience. Armed with only his band, his instruments, and his voice, no flash and theatrics were needed to keep the stadium filled with forty-thousand fans in the stands happy.

Fifty years after starting his career, Sir Paul McCartney still knows how to put on a show that can simply be described as amazing. Kris Allen This year was by far the year of Kris Allen for me.

During the year, I was able to see him live a total of seven times, bringing my total to eight. It might have been more if there were no age restriction on some of his shows. Since I saw him so many times, my thirteen shows had to be whittled down from a top 10 to a to eight. Watching him is always a real treat. Out of everyone I have seen live, he has by far had one of the best live vocals I have had heard, if not the best. Most of the times I saw him, he served as an opening act with a shorter set.

However, I was lucky enough to also catch one of his headlining shows, which was my favorite concert of the year. It was extremely fun and engaging. Each time that I saw him, Allen knew how to connect with the audience, providing witty banter.

Not only that, but his musical ability is great, with the different interpretations of his original tracks and his take on songs by Michael Jackson, Tears for Fears, and The Beatles always being a bit different each time I saw him. With his fantastic music ability and unassuming, yet completely engaging and witty onstage persona, Allen needs to thrills or frills to engage his audience.

He just needs his voice and his guitar to capture the crowd. From the first time I have seen him to the last, he has only been getting better, proving that he is one of the most underrated artists out there right now.

So, these were my favorite live shows of the year. Home About. Dec 28 Leave a comment. Best of Live Shows One of my favorite things to do is to go to live shows. Harry Styles: Live on Tour Harry Styles is much more charming and charismatic than his music is, which makes him good on stage.
